MERCURY DIMES (1916-1945)
Designed by Adolf Weinman, the Mercury Dime, is the most popular collectible dime produced by the United States Mint.
In circulated conditions it's a relatively easy set to complete, except for the ever elusive 1916-D Mercury Dime - and in non-circulated condition, it's a virtually impossible coin set to complete.
The Mint mark is located on the bottom of the reverse, to the left of the fasces. Coins cited as FSB (Full Split Bands) indicate the separation of the bands on the reverse.
Lowest mintage of the Mercury Dime series: 1916-D: 264,000.
Highest Mintage of the Mercury Dimeseries:1944
Composition: 90% Silver, 10 Copper
Lately the Mercury Dime has been bringing big bucks on eBay and around the US in general because of its silver content and the abundance of its availability.
If you own a bag full of Mercury Dimes get them up on auction now to take advantage of the Silver Prices. This will also allow you to make some money to invest
